I was also having issues with the mod not working, finally got it to work thnx to with the Ck2 workshop (or more its ck2 lancher) that can not handle too many
I have an issue when I subscribe a mod from Workshop it doesn't initiate the download. If it does initiate it, it shows up in downloads but doesn't progress at all. If I restart Steam the download is gone and nothing happens. The only way to download and install mods for the standalone version is to get them from the downloads section of the Klei forums. Here's a handy how-to for installing mods from the Klei forums. If the mod is only available on Steam and not on the Klei forums, you may have to contact the mod creator and ask if he or she can put it on our forums.
